Quick and Easy

I love pasta. It is a versatile food, it is quick and easy to prepare, and depending on your mood, pasta can be prepared as either a simple dish, or a very elaborate one.

Spaghetti Bolognese is one of my favorite pasta dishes.

The traditional bolognese sauce (ragu ala bolognese) served with tagliatelle, is not served with parmesan cheese and generally has very little sauce. I was pretty surprised when I tried it in Italy, as it did not even vaguely resemble the bolognese sauce that I grew up eating, and while it was very tasty, moms version of this dish is what I long for when I think of spaghetti bolognese. It is easy to cook and tastes delicious. A a real comfort food.

Fun to eat

When I was a child, I was always happy when my mom cooked
spaghetti bolognese. I loved the delicious taste, and for me it was real fun to eat.
I usually made quite a mess, but boy did I enjoy it.
I would even willingly eat some of the fresh garden salad that
always seemed to accompany this dish in my house.

Nowadays I cook spaghetti bolognese for my family and friends when they come over. A well prepared spaghetti bolognese is a dish that everyone will enjoy.

A tasty pasta, a simple salad with vinaigrette dressing, and some nice red wine, what could be better.

I noticed that most people like this dish.

I hope you and your family enjoy it too

Cooking Preference

Just a little side note, I personally like my pasta cooked al dente, which means that, I prefer my spaghetti a little more firm. I do not follow most pasta packets instructions, but rather drain the pasta from the hot water a little earlier. I cannot tell you exactly how much earlier as each brand of pasta has a different cooking time. But what I do is, while cooking the spaghetti, I fish out a couple of strands and take a bite, look at the center of the spaghetti, if you can see a tiny dot in the center, then its ready to be served. If the color is the same throughout then for me its overcooked.
