Cleaning and protecting leather
Extra virgin coconut oil is great for cleaning and protecting leather.
I have an antique leather briefcase, that was passed down to me from my great grandfather. I didn't want to use anything harsh on it, so I rubbed on some coconut oil, to prevent the leather from drying and cracking, as most leather products do with age. My logic was that since it was good for the skin, it should work for leather. The results were great, it made the leather soft and smooth, at the same time it also protected the leather from the elements.
Every six months or so, I re-polish the briefcase to keep it in good condition.
You can use it on leather shoes, boots or other leather goods, to protect it and keep it in good condition.
